In Puerto Rico we celebrate Día de Reyes (Three Kings Day) on January 6 as the day the Mejay reached the new born, Jesus, to offer him gifts. This is the day were traditionally we would exchange gifts.
When young my siblings and I would get grass from outside and put in a shoe box. We would leave the box under our beds. This was suppose to be food for the "Tres Reyes Magos" (Mejay's) camels, that in return would leave gifts.
