Art You Can Hug : on the paper

Looks like my plush monster Ouch! has turned into the spokes person for the upcoming plush show Art You Can Hug! He was recently featured in the Broward-Palm Beach New Times Magazine and website, and is also on the show's flying. But he won't be making an appearance at the show because he is now happily living in San Francisco.

For more info on the show pick up a copy of the New Times, is the one with the bright yellow cover or head over to the event page. You can rsvp there, remember there is NO COVER. Hope to see you all there.

Busy. Busy Busy

So many shows. So much work. So little time.

I been a busy bee the past few weeks getting all my plushies done in time for upcoming shows, and helping my girlfriend finish her dissertation. I have 3 upcoming shows that are so close to each other I have to do all the pieces at the same time. The shows are Art You Can Hung, this is a full soft, plush show. My first 100%plush show participation. Days after that show the brand new Island Life is happening up in Cocoa Beach. A friend of my friend is putting that one together. The a few weeks after those two is Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Gallery. The good thing about the later one is that since its a live art show I can actually finish my piece at the event. I will definitely us that to my advantage.

Besides the guys in the pictures I'm also working on a "tiki god" (for "Island Life"), another "Skull Octokitty"(for Willy's Gallery) and a glittery "blue owl" (for "Art You Can Hug"). After those 3 are done I still have to work on an Umpa Lumpa and think of some revenge. yeah.... Busy, busy, busy.

One of the 2 will be at "art you can hug"

Must do Plushies!!!!

It's been a while since I've made a good hearty plush. My goodness, January at the Carnival art show, was the last time. It feels like forever to me. Is not so much that I don't have the inspiration, because I do. I have so many ideas in my head. I have 2 shows coming soon, so I'm hoping to me done with my current dissertation project and get started with my plush characters. I'm also crossing my fingers. I just applied for Plush You! LA which is something that I would love to be part off. Specially now that I have so much non related plush stuff going on.

Since I don't have a cute plush image. I will leave you with what I found on the other side of a Domino's pizza box. It actually made me laugh out loud.

Stitch Wars opened this weekend!

It was such a good opening night. The croud was great and the artwork even better. It was a fun fill show. If you missed it go check out the pictures at Bear and Bird's flickr. Some of the pieces look really good online but just amazing in person. There is some detail that can only be appreciated in person. ::hint hint:: go check out the show in person.

I'm very excited. I just found out that all my pieces sold and they are going to nice loving homes. I also got a commision to create another "Friendly Wampa".
