Day Of The Dead Luchador

A few weeks ago when sending my Luchadores illustrations to print, I couldn't decide which Dia de los Muertos luchador character to use. I went back and forward with no final decision. Then I posted a version of them both in my facebook page to take them to a vote. Let my fans and friends decide which one should be printed. After a few days of voting they still came out as a tie. It was then when I took the only obvious choice I had, print them both. This past Saturday I previewed them at Stitch Rock in Delray Beach, Florida were they sold very well. I'll take that as a reaffirmation that I made the right decision in printing them both.

Collaborative Art Show

Artist Joshua Surprenant and I (Denn Rodriguez) were involved in a collaborative, live art show this Thursday, July 1, at Respectables, a night club on Clematis Street in Downtown West Palm Beach. This one-night event required two artists to collaborate and create a unique art piece in front of a live audience. Joshua and I decided to create a Dia de los Muertos sugar skull mask, Joshua's forté, and cover it with felt, which I typically use to make my plush creations.

For more pictures, visit this album.
If you are interested in having your own sugar skull mask, contact me or Joshua Surprenant.

Published pictures in Level Magazine

Level Magazine a latin pop culture Miami publication has a new November issue dedicated to "El Día De Los Muertos" (Day of the dead). They were kind enough to publish two of my pictures from Día De Los Muertos, Merida 2007, after finding them through Joshua's flickr (also in the collage). Denn Rodriguez is published on the first and second page of the picture collage, with a name mention on the second page. Get the magazine on stands today or see their virtual publication. (pictures in pages 84-87).
