Harry Potter characters

These are some characters I illustrated for a Harry Potter set of stickers. I decided to do the kids and one of my favorite background characters Nymphadora Tonks. Sorry, no professors or my favorite character Severus Snape. I hope you enjoy the illustrations though. :)

Included in the set:
Harry Potter, Harmony Wrenger, Ron Weasley, Nymphadora Tonks, Luna Lovegood, Ginny Weasley, Nibble Longbottom and Draco Malfoy.

I have no plans to make this guys into plushies. I want to dedicate more time to work and develop my own characters.

Oompa Loompa Plush

Finished plush Umpa Lumpa (Oompa Loompa)... as seen in:
Film. Page 2
Super Punch

This plush is based on a pattern I created a year ago. The first one sold to a private collector in Florida, and ever since then I have been wanting to create a new one. I am so happy I was given the opportunity to create this new one... I may have to make another one for myself. :) This guys is about 20" tall.

This plush is now available as a smaller version.

Umpa Lumpa

Meet Umpa Lumpa, from the original movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I took pictures of the process of making this plush and upload them to my facebook fan page.

This plush is based on a design I did years ago for a Willy Wonka art show.

These are the pictures of the process of this new Umpa Lumpa:

Stitch Rock 2011

This weekend was the amazing and always very anticipated Stitch Rock. Every year I am in "ahh" at the quality of crafters that get together for this event. Artists at the event ranged from handmade accessory crafters to pickled goodie producers to on-site screen printers. The very talented Amanda Linton did a great job of putting this event together and this year was no exception.

An hour before the doors opened, the line of eager craftie lovers was already down the street. (It seemed that everyone wanted to be one of the first 100 people to get free goodie bags at the event...including some stickers from me!!!) This year, Stitch Rock celebrated its 5th birthday with balloons, party hats, and birthday cake.

I have attended this event before, but never had the guts to participate as a vendor... not until this year. I am so glad I did!!! All the vendors were nice and supportive, which made the experience even better!!!

I have to send a special thank you to Migdalia Pace from Recycle My Bag for lending me her iPad so I could accept credit cards through Square (thanks chica!!!). This made a world of difference. Another super special thanks goes to Rhianna for spending the whole day helping me organize and manage my booth. Thank you...the day would not had been as successful without you.

Visit the New Times to see more pictures from the event.

Day Of The Dead Luchador

A few weeks ago when sending my Luchadores illustrations to print, I couldn't decide which Dia de los Muertos luchador character to use. I went back and forward with no final decision. Then I posted a version of them both in my facebook page to take them to a vote. Let my fans and friends decide which one should be printed. After a few days of voting they still came out as a tie. It was then when I took the only obvious choice I had, print them both. This past Saturday I previewed them at Stitch Rock in Delray Beach, Florida were they sold very well. I'll take that as a reaffirmation that I made the right decision in printing them both.

Luchador Pillow Covers

luchadores pillow covers

This is a new item I have been wanting to create for a while. It's a pillow cover from a luchador face I designed in FL a while back. Last night I finally made my dream come true and finished 5 pillow covers that I'll be bringing with me to Stitch Rock!

Next step is to actually make some small pillows and a bunch of plushies.

I've been wanting to be part of this fair for years, but never had the guts to apply for it. This year I finally did and now I am really looking forward to it... freaking out a little but excited at the same time. I am sure I'll learn a lot from it.

I am very excited to announce that I'll have art in two shows opening this Friday. One show is Stitch Wars Strikes Back at Bear and Bird in FL, the other one is Current at Gallery 464 in NY. Since I can't be in two places at the same time and I had already bought tickets to go to Florida I'll be present at the opening of Stitch Wars. Hope to see some of you there!
